AKAL TAKHT

Akal Takht in its simple meaning is place of god or seat of god.Akal means the one who is neither created nor destroyed(timeless one) and Takht means place of god.ther are five Akal Takht such as Sri Harmandir Sahib,Sri Keshgarh Sahib (Anandpur),sri Patna Sahib,sri Hazur Sahib and sri Damdama Sahib.Amongst which Sri Harmandir Sahib,Amritser is the supreme Takht.For every sikh visiting the all five AKAL Takht in life period is very important and essensial.
The original structure of Akal Takht was built by Guru Hargobind ji, Bhai Gurdas ji and Baba Buddha ji, with their own hands. No other person or artist was employed to build the platform. Guru ji remarked that the seat of guru would serve the panth for eternity.It is from the Akal Takhat that Hukamnamas are announced to provide guidance or clarification on any point of fair decision or practice.
